About the project

The project «Pollianna — Share the Joy and Enjoy» was started at the end of 2013 as a civil initiative. We’ve noticed that there was no sufficient online source of information on the free leisure activities in the city, as well as various charity campaigns and events available to Russian-speaking residents of Tallinn. The team of our project decided to create such a source, where it would be possible to find information on free actions, events, courses, sports activities, group study classes, etc. At the moment our target audience are the Russian-speaking residents of Estonia, people with the low level of the income, tourists, as well travel companies and organizers of free events. We would like to involve people interested in this project from all over Estonia, and turn this website into a large-scale source of information. The purpose of this project is to ensure the viability of the organization by attracting new audiences, new members and volunteers by creating a functional Internet environment, its optimization and development. By expanding the portal and informing our target group of its existence we want to promote a more active participation of the Russian-speaking diasporas of Estonia in the social life, as well as introduce them to the country’s culture and traditions, and improve the information exchange between the residents of various ethnical backgrounds, promoting integration and mutual understanding. The project is supported by Open Estonia Foundation and EEA Grants and by City of Tallinn.

The outcome of our project is NGO Pollianna viability increase through involvement of new audience and volunteers, creation of new version of website, which allows to carry out expanded search of events by categories, venues, dates. It is also possible to add events to a calendar of the mobile phone or e-mail program.

The advertizing campaign on radio and in newspapers was carried out and wider audience heard about us.

The project main benefit is  improved  information exchange between the residents of various ethnical backgrounds, promotion of integration and mutual understanding. By expanding the portal and informing our target group of its existence we promote a more active participation of the Russian-speaking diasporas of Estonia in the social life and introduce them to the country’s culture and traditions.
